Description
Early Autumn at Washington Pass Overlook. State Route 20 climbs across the North Cascades, up to 5476 foot Washington Pass, then descends through Winthrop and Twisp, down to the Columbia River. In early October, 2019, clouds hung low over the Early Winters Spires, leaving the steep, rocky slopes above tree line exposed at the Washington Pass Overlook Site Visitors' Center. Washington Pass is closed by snow between late November and early May each winter. October, 2019.
