Description
Looff Carousel in Riverfront Park. The Looff Carousel is a hand-carved gem at the heart of Spokane's Riverfront Park. The Carousel, built in 1909, includes 54 horses, one giraffe, one tiger, and two Chinese dragon chairs, and even includes a brass ring. The carousel rotates counter-clockwise, so all of the animals face to the right. The right side of each animal, called the romance side, faces out and contains all the decorations and intricate hand carvings. Visitors mount one the inner, left side, called the money side because they have paid their money to ride. July, 2019.
