Description
The Great Northern Clocktower is reflected in the serene turquoise water of the South Fork of the Spokane River. Emerald green grass of Riverfront Park rolls gently down to the north bank, on the left. Slabs of rough cut basalt on the far left form steps down to the water on the far left. The Clocktower is all that is left of the Great Northern and Union Pacific rail yards that once covered what is now Riverfront Park. The tracks and Union Depot were removed to make way for the 1974 World's Fair, and replaced by the Park.
