Billy Frank Jr Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge - Wall Art

Billy Frank Jr, was a Nisqually tribal member famed for fighting for tribal fishing rights and environmental activism, especially along the Nisqually River in coastal Washington. He received the Presidential Freedom Medal, posthumously, from President Obama for his environmental work. The Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge is ten miles north of Olympia, Washington, just west of I-5. The refuge provides habitat and nesting areas for waterfowl and migratory birds. The refuge includes a protected estuary, salt and fresh water marshes, open grassland, riparian woodland and brush.
