A bronze statue of a shirtless CCC worker holding a double bit axe stands near the entrance to the Glacier Public Service Center of the US Forest Service Mt Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. The statue is a few feet from SR 542, east of Glacier, and honors the men who cleared land, felled forests, built roads, and strung telephone and power lines on the west slopes of the North Cascades.
