Description
A traditional dip net hangs from the right side of a Native American fishing platform while a semi crosses The Dalles Bridge from Oregon to Washington's June dusty hills. The bridge makes giant steps across the Columbia River, leashed by The Dalles Dam, just upriver from the Bridge, to the right of the image. Before the Dam and the Bridge, the mighty Columbia ran wild and free through rapids and over falls, and fishing platforms like this on both sides of the River and on rocks in the middle of the River provided salmon for an indigenous market.
