Description
A historical marker beside State Route 20 declares that several hundred sheep owned by A A Curtis were slaughtered by club-wielding cattle ranchers in 1903 a half mile behind the sign. Eventually, the range wars died down and shepherds and cattle ranchers were able to live together in peace. State Route 20 east of Twisp is called the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway.
