Description
The steel roof of the Methow Valley Cycling shop shines under a bright November sun, and the faded red walls contrast with the deep green of firs and pines, the deep azure blue of the sky, and the puffy white clouds that ride the mountains. Mazama is a small community on the eastern flank of the North Cascades, 14 miles from Winthrop as the traveler follows State Route 20, the North Cascades Highway, down from the high peaks of Washington Pass. Mazama is a place for active, outdoors folks. In winter, cross-country skiing is popular, hunters headquarter here in the fall, and cycling is popular most of the year. November, 2018.
