Description
High above the Columbia River, Historic Highway 30 passes the Memaloose Overlook on the Oregon side of the river. Memaloose is an island burial site used by Native Americans, on which the deceased was placed in a small cedar hut. Most such burial islands have been covered by flood waters caused by dams along the Columbia. May, 2017.
