Description
This high, tree-crowned bluff gave way due to excessive rain and over-soaked soil on March 22, 2014, at 10:37 AM. The resulting devastating mudslide buried 43 children, women, and men. USGS later determined that the slide dammed the North Fork of the Stillaguamish, creating a lake 2.5 miles long, and mud and debris covered at least a half mile square, and 25 - 50 feet deep. January, 2023.
