Description
This grassy, park-like area is in the center of Newhalem, the company town built by Seattle City Light to construct and maintain three hydroelectric dams. This park was once covered by the tracks and rail yard of the Skagit River Railway. The SKR hauled workers and material 23 miles from Rockport, the Great Northern terminus, to the Skagit River Hydroelectric Project. State Route 20 is on the left. May, 2022.
