Description
A mural in Mt Vernon presents people and animals, places and things, a fascinating display. Einstein, and Chaplin, oceans and ferries, horses and killer whales, fields of tulips, corn, and pumpkins, and a barn full of potatoes decorate the wall. The mural, painted by some 200 volunteers in 2017, depicts the value of immigration. Einstein, Chaplin, and Legson Kayira, whose image is on the potato barn, and who immigrated from Africa, studied at the local community college, and became a writer.
