Description
The Methow River arises in the North Cascades, in north central Washington, and wends its way southeast through the western-themed town of Winthrop to its junction with the Columbia River at the tiny town of Pateros. The hill sides are clad with tall pines. In the summer, the trees and grass grow dry and brown, and suffer wildfires frequently. These charred snags remain.
