Description
Tall towers support cables that carry hydroelectric power produced by Bonneville Dam. Some towers on the Washington shore near the dam are orange and white, some are silver steel. Bonneville Dam, built during the late 1930s, flooded Native American villages and fishing areas. The dam now provides more than three quarters of the hydropower for the Pacific Northwest.
