Description
The Bonneville powerhouse structure on the Washington (north) shore of the Columbia River was completed in 1981, 44 years after the original structure on the Oregon side was finished. The powerhouse in this image was erected by widening the channel on the Washington side and creating Cascades Island in the middle of the river, on the right of the dam in this view, looking upriver. A cloudy July sky turned the Columbia a steely green. July, 2019.
