Description
Walking on the Skagit River Dike. The broad Skagit River flows gently through Mt Vernon in mid July. A dike on each side keeps the river in its bed. A hiker walks on the gravel service road that tops the dike. A locked steel gate next to a pit toilet keeps out unofficial vehicles, but walkers can pass on either side of the gate. July, 2019.
