Retired Turbine in Newhalem. A retired turbine from the Gorge Power Plant stands as a monument to the Skagit River Hydroelectric Project and the women and men who built and operate the three systems at Ross, Diablo, and Gorge Dams. The turbine is in Newhalem, a community created by Seattle City Light to maintain the dams and hydroelectric plants on SR 20 in the North Cascades. September, 2023.
