Cap Sante is a park and overlook high on a hill above Anacortes. The top of the hill is decorated with giant rocks and madrona trees. These lovely smooth bark trees grow on the west coast of the US and Canada. They are called madrone trees south of the Siskiyou Mountains in California. The madrona bears small white blossoms in spring and red berries in the fall. The tree has green, glossy leaves year round. February, 2019.
