Description
On the banks of the Skagit River as it rushes west from the high north Cascades, Tom Porter and Bob Kerr felled two large cedar trees, floated them downriver, and built this sturdy cabin. Tom married Bob's sister, Mima, and together they had seven kids. The cabin survived winters and summers and floods. It is now over 120 years old and still standing. The cabin is in Miller Steelhead Park in Rockport. May, 2017.
