A dead tree snag stands naked in a meadow near the North Fork of the Stillaguamish River and a hundred yards or so east of the Oso Slide Memorial. Behind and to the right of the snag, snow-capped Round Mountain stands sentinel above the Stillaguamish River Valley. The river flows at the foot of the mountains. The river was dammed by the tragic Oso Mudslide in 2014. Wide-spread flooding in this area probably contributed to the demise of the tree. April, 2020.
