Pilings supporting an old salmon cannery building across Drayton Harbor from Blaine stand tall when the tide is out. Wild blackberries and sea grass gain a foothold atop the pilings at the lower left. This aging, rusty roofed building is now used as a recreation storage facility for Semiahmoo Resort. The weathered cannery at the tip of Semiahmoo Spit was built in the 1880s, and used as a cannery for a hundred years, until purchased by the resort. A hazy sky contrasts with the blue bay and rusty roof on the first day of May in 2019.
Welcome to my Vagabond Photography site. Much of my work is shot in Washington state, though I also wander other places in the western US and in southern British Columbia. I hope you enjoy the images of the places, things, and people that are displayed here. Vagabond Photography means seeking interesting, fun, remarkable sights, being a will-o'-the-wisp in search of the unusual, the beautiful, the engaging, and the truly awe inspiring. Perhaps you'd like to join me on my journeys. Welcome to my corner of the world! Welcome to Vagabond Photography, vagabonding (wandering) across the Pacific Northwest.
