The rainbow rows of Skagit Valley tulips were not the only eye-catching colors on this early April day in 2019. A saffron robed monk, a big blue tractor and wagon, a partly cloudy sky above distant blue hills, and a gray clay roadway competed with the beautiful blooms. On a chilly, breezy day, a white flag was flapping, visitors riding in the wagon and walking through the tulips wore jackets, and the monk had warm socks in his sandals. April, 2019.
