Description

They walk for many miles, sometimes from as far away as Albuquerque, over 90 miles away, many from Espanola or Santa Fe or Taos. They are the devout pilgrims who make the long hike to the Santuario de Chimayo in northern New Mexico on the days before Easter, seeking physical and spiritual healing through prayer and penitence. Their faith and reverence are profound.
