Artist's Description
The Gorge Power House in Newhalem, Washington, part of Seattle City Light's hydroelectric project, receives water from Gorge Lake, through a huge pipe, called a penstock. The rushing water powers turbines to provide power to western Washington, and empties into the Skagit River through the outlet ports at the lower left of the power house. In late February, the North Cascades are still snow dusted. February, 2019.
