Description
The current State Capitol is the third building to house the Oregon government. The second Capitol building burned down in 1935. Fortunately, the columns from the building's portico were saved. Large chunks of those columns are now displayed in the State Capitol State Parks. The columns had a core of brick, covered by marble.
