On Thursday of Holy Week, the day before Good Friday, devout Roman Catholics walk many miles through the small adobe villages and sage and pinon-dotted hills of northern New Mexico. Their destination is the Santuario de Chimayo, where dirt in a hole in the floor is blessed and believed by the faithful to offer spiritual and physical healing. This man still has a few miles to go on this sunny, cold morning as he passes a roadside altar for the pilgrims.
Welcome to my Vagabond Photography site. Much of my work is shot in Washington state, though I also wander other places in the western US and in southern British Columbia. I hope you enjoy the images of the places, things, and people that are displayed here. Vagabond Photography means seeking interesting, fun, remarkable sights, being a will-o'-the-wisp in search of the unusual, the beautiful, the engaging, and the truly awe inspiring. Perhaps you'd like to join me on my journeys. Welcome to my corner of the world! Welcome to Vagabond Photography, vagabonding (wandering) across the Pacific Northwest.
