The Pendleton Round-up stadium, called the Happy Canyon Arena, is hard to miss. The outer walls are painted bright red, and they shine under a blue sky on an early morning in August. The Round-up was started in 1910 by local ranchers. Ten PRCA-approved events, including bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, barrel racing, and steer wrestling, provide exciting, dangerous opportunities for cowboys and cowgirls to demonstrate their athletic skills.
