Astoria is draped over Coxcomb Hill, viewed from the Astoria Column. Above and to the left of crest of the hill, the mouth of the Lewis and Clark River is visible. The Columbia River is to the right of Astoria and the Washington shore is beyond. The Astoria-Megler Bridge crosses the Columbia at the center of the image, and the Columbia Bar, shoals and sand bars at the mouth of the Columbia, is on the horizon.
