Description
Union Pacific Tracks and Price River. These rocky crags in Carbon County, Utah, are just northwest of the old Castle Gate Power Plant. The Denver and Rio Grande Railway steamed through this canyon beginning in 1883, driving the development of coal mining. The tracks are now owned by Union Pacific Railroad, and used by Amtrak twice a day. The Price River, bottom center, flows next to the tracks below US 6. August, 2018.
