Artist's Description
Twisp is a small town in Okanogan County on the eastern slopes of the North Cascades. Downtown Twisp is two blocks long and not quite two blocks wide. The creamy white building on the left is an insurance office. The salmon and purple building on the right is the Confluence Gallery and Art Center. The insurance office was originally the Commercial Bank of Washington. In 1924, when most buildings were wood, a fire destroyed two houses and 23 business buildings, including the bank building. The bank's vault, built of brick, was not damaged. The vault is still used by the insurance agency. April, 2019.
