Description
Chimayo is a village in the mountains of northern New Mexico. November colors in Chimayo include the red of chile ristras (bundles of chiles) hanging to dry from the eaves and porch roof of the old Portrero Trading Post, which was built by J M Vigil in 1948. The store sells santos, woodcarving, and popsicles, but the ancient gas pump no longer works.
