Artist's Description

A rusty mail box out of the past sits on a barrel weighted by stones to protect from the high winds on the eastern flanks of the Cascades. The windbreak behind the house serves the same purpose. The future on the far side of the hill uses that wind to generate electricity with wind turbines on the horizon. May, 2017. US 97 climbs towards the distant mountains.
