In early October, on a quiet, mostly sunny day, the Umpqua River flows dreamily through the shallows past Elkton, Oregon. Elkton is a small town at the intersection of State Route 138, the Elkton-Sutherlin Highway, and State Route 38, the Umpqua Highway, in western Oregon. October, 2016.
