Pateros rests quietly on the shore of the Columbia River in north central Washington. A silver steel ramp connects a small boat dock in the Columbia to Pateros Park near a delicate green willow tree losing its leaves in early November. A deep blue fall sky, speckled by clouds arches over the dusty eastern foothills of the North Cascades. 2018
