Memorial Park is a place for fun and contemplation in Bellingham. The center of the park is a memorial to Whatcom County residents who lost their lives in wars from World War I through Iraq. Polished granite slabs with the names of war dead are arranged like the blades of a turbine surrounding a tall flag pole. Benches for contemplation sit before each slab, and are reflected in the mirror surfaces. A young mother pushes a stroller carrying an infant while her young son races through the park. These young lives are our hopes for the future. In mid October, maple trees are turning red. 2018.
Welcome to my Vagabond Photography site. Much of my work is shot in Washington state, though I also wander other places in the western US and in southern British Columbia. I hope you enjoy the images of the places, things, and people that are displayed here. Vagabond Photography means seeking interesting, fun, remarkable sights, being a will-o'-the-wisp in search of the unusual, the beautiful, the engaging, and the truly awe inspiring. Perhaps you'd like to join me on my journeys. Welcome to my corner of the world! Welcome to Vagabond Photography, vagabonding (wandering) across the Pacific Northwest.
