Description
When the tide ebbs at Birch Bay, around the corner from Blaine, the mud of the shallow bay is exposed for half a mile. In July, Birch Bay sponsors a sand castle competition. This island entry in the competition was constructed by a young fellow working alone. The flowers are from the shoreline. The blue bucket is his principal construction tool.
