Artist's Description
A country road in Whatcom County passes fields, barns, and homes that are far enough apart that residents can't hear their neighbors. A round marker on a short post, foreground in this image, is gray in June. The little triangles on the marker warn when temperatures are below freezing by turning blue. Ice on these country roads can be a danger.
