Artist's Description
High in the mountains between Santa Fe and Taos, a traveler can find the village of Las Trampas (Spanish for traps), founded in 1751. The center of town and the Church of San Jose de la Gracia are on the National Historic Register. New Mexico has used solid log markers like this for historic sites since 1935. The markers themselves are a link to the past.
