Description
Dark clouds hang heavy over Kulshan, a white sentinel above a green soccer field in Whatcom County. Kulshan, from the indigenous Nooksack name Kwelsha'n for white sentinel, also known as Mt Baker, is the third highest mountain in Washington state at 3,286 meters. It was named for Lt Joseph Baker on HMS Discovery by Captain George Vancouver in 1792, March, 2023.
