BNSF Engine 8257 leads a very long freight train, mostly oil tank cars, across the swing bridge that stands in the middle of the Swinomish Channel, near Anacortes. The bridge is often open, allowing small boats to pass. Twice a day, the bridge swings closed on a central pivot to allow trains to pass each way. The bridge sounds like rusty door hinges in a haunted house when it swings around to let trains pass. December, 2018.
