Morning haze and low hanging clouds drift across the Rio Grande Valley soon after sunrise on a quiet day in August. Juniper trees freckle the mesas leading up to the White Rock Overlook. Black Mesa is on the San Ildefonso Pueblo, where it rises some 515 feet above the valley floor. The Sangre de Cristo Mountains rise dimly beyond Black Mesa.September, 2018.
