Baldy is a popular name for the magnificent, majestic mountains of Colorado. Three Baldy Peaks, one Baldy Mountain, and one Bald Mountain hold up the blue Colorado skies. The snow-topped peak, left of center, is Baldy Peak that overlooks the La Plata River as it rolls down the La Plata Canyon north of US 160 and Hesperus and northwest of Durango. Deep snow already blankets Baldy Peak and fog drifts across the valley floor two days after Thanksgiving. November, 2019.
