White Rock, BC, overlooks the northern shore of Semiahmoo Bay, on the Canada-US border, northwest of Blaine, Washington. The city is named for this 486 ton boulder, deposited on the beach by glacial action. The rock was whitened by shell-eating seabird guano and served as a beacon for ships in the bay. It is now painted white periodically by city crews. Behind the rock on the left is the beginning of the White Rock Pier. March, 2020.
