Description
The pond in VanderYacht Park is graced by reeds and pond grass, wild iris and water lilies. These yellow water-lilies had just started to bloom in late May, floating amid fir trees and gray clouds reflected in the pond in Ferndale's Vanderyacht Park. Images of yellow water-lilies are carved in the roof bosses of Westminster Abbey in London which are believed to encourage celibacy. The blooms in the Ferndale park do not appear to have that purpose. May, 2019.
