Description
Vedder Crossing Bridge. The Vedder River flows cheerfully through the City of Chilliwack, BC, on its way to meet the Fraser River. The Vedder Bridge, the world's first steel arched bridge constructed using the king post method, was completed in December, 2017. The bridge replaced the previous bridge, built in 1947, that was too low and subject to flooding. A clear blue sky was reflected in the Chilliwack River in mid-February, 2020. Vedder Park is on the right past the bridge and next to the Vedder Rotary Trail that follows the river. February, 2020.
