Description
The Upper Baker Dam is one of two dams that impound the Baker River as part of the Baker River Hydroelectric Project. The Dam was built in 1959 and can produce 91 MW of electricity. Th concrete gravity dam is 312 feet high and 1200 feet long. The blue green reservoir is 9 miles long and contains 285,000 acre feet of water. Below this dam, the Lower Baker River Dam impounds the Baker River to form Lake Shannon. August, 2020.
