Description
Longview, Washington, is a marine port that sends timber and other manufactured goods up and down the Columbia River, and to distant Asian and American ports. Longview sits at an elbow of the Columbia, mid way between Astoria and Portland. Viewed here on a foggy day in October from Ranier View Point on US 30 in Oregon, the Lewis and Clark Bridge shadows a large lumber mill on the Washington shore. One freighter is docked, and the freighter on the right is being pulled and pushed into the deep water of the Columbia, perhaps bound for China.
