In 1967, La Alizanza, a Hispanic land rights organization led by Reies Lopez Tijerina, captured the Rio Arriba County Courthouse in Tierra Amarilla, New Mexico, a few miles from this sign near US 84, and held it briefly. Tierra O Muerte (Land Or Death) was the rallying cry of La Alianza. September rain clouds shade sagebrush and juniper trees on a hillside above Tierra Amarilla. September, 2018.
Welcome to my Vagabond Photography site. Much of my work is shot in Washington state, though I also wander other places in the western US and in southern British Columbia. I hope you enjoy the images of the places, things, and people that are displayed here. Vagabond Photography means seeking interesting, fun, remarkable sights, being a will-o'-the-wisp in search of the unusual, the beautiful, the engaging, and the truly awe inspiring. Perhaps you'd like to join me on my journeys. Welcome to my corner of the world! Welcome to Vagabond Photography, vagabonding (wandering) across the Pacific Northwest.
