Description
The Skagit River rises high in the North Cascades, not far from Canada, and runs and rushes, twist and flows down through mountains, across the fertile farming plains of the Skagit Valley, and past Mt Vernon, before it reaches the Salish Sea. At Mt Vernon, a through-truss, swing bridge carries Division Street across the Skagit River. In mid-August, the river flows green and gently under a partly cloudy sky.
