Description
A weathered cement block silo stands between two rusty-roofed, crumbling barns on the campus of Northern State Hospital. The hospital closed in 1973 and the abandoned farm buildings have not been maintained since then. Northern State, on the edge of Sedro-Woolley, was self-supporting and had farm buildings for dairy and beef cattle, hogs, and grain storage, and fed almost 3000 patients and staff while it was open. March, 2021.
